University of Sioux Falls to Host ‘Active Shooter’ Response Course
This summer, the University of Sioux Falls will teach a class that, hopefully, none of the attendees will ever have to use.
On Wednesday and Thursday, June 4-5, USF will again be playing host to an active shooter response training course for the region.
The ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) training response certification course will take place both days at USF’s Salsbury Science Center.
Dakota News Now reports that the training course will teach attendees proactive response survival strategies for violent critical incidents, ensuring a trauma-informed approach to civilian active threats.
The main objective of the ALICE course is to empower individuals to learn how to navigate a violent situation for their own survival during the gap between when the dangerous situation starts and the time law enforcement arrives.
