On this date (6/25) one of the most beloved romantic movies of all time was released in theaters. "The Notebook," which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s. The film actually had mixed reviews when it first came out but won numerous awards winning eight Teen Choice Awards, a Satellite Award, and an MTV Movie Award.

The budget for the film was roughly $29 million and made $115.6 million at the box office. The film became the 15th highest-grossing romantic drama film of all time. Coming in at number one, of course, is the movie, "Titanic."

Back in 2015, there were reports of a television series that was set to air on the CW network that would follow Noah and Allie's courtship following the events of the film and in a post-WWII world. As of 2019, it has yet to air.
