Sunny’s Pizzeria Inviting You To Pick the Next South Dakota Legend
If you would like a say in the next local celebrity to go up on the Sunny's Pizzeria "Wall of Notability," you'll need to act quickly, because voting ends in just a few days.
Dakota News Now reports that voting is still underway, but the winner will be chosen later this week.
This year's candidates include sprint car racing legend Doug Wolfgang, South Dakota LPGA superstar Kris Tschetter, and college football player and coaching legend Joe Salem, long-time coach for USD, Northern Arizona, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Sunny’s Pizzeria owner Jon Oppold told Dakota News Now that this is the first year the popular pizzeria is letting the public choose who will be honored on the wall of notability.
According to Oppold, “You know, when we first did this, we had the initial amount of people that we put on here. We figured it would be a little bit more difficult every year to keep nominating and finding people. But the more we brainstormed, the more we kind of think of, ‘Oh, that person probably deserves to be there."
The wall highlights a wide variety of South Dakota celebs and notable figures, like television and motion picture actress January Jones, World War II Ace Joe Foss, legendary KELO TV weatherman and host of the Captain 11 Show, Dave Dedrick, Wilbur, the crazy coyote from Gigglebees Arcade, the Statue of David from Faywick Park, and long-time host of Entertainment Tonight, and Madison South Dakota native, Mary Hart.
