The motion picture Twister has nothing on these two.

Let's be honest, we Midwesterners have been known to do some crazy ass things from time to time, but this one has got to take the cake.

A South Dakota couple recently got engaged with a tornado swirling in the distance. A little too close for comfort, if you ask me.

Whiskey Riff.com reports that a professional storm chaser from South Dakota named Bryce Shelton got down on one knee in front of a raging tornado over the weekend and swept his new fiancée, Paige Berdomas, who is also a storm chaser, right off her feet in the most epic way.

I mean, really, could this stormy romance be one of the most South Dakotan things you've ever seen?

Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton have nothing on this South Dakota storm chasing couple. This is a wedding proposal for the ages!

After looking at this incredible photo, a few things immediately come to mind. You know, things like this proposal blows! The fiancée was blown away! I hope she said yes and didn't storm off. Talk about a whirlwind romance. Love is in the air, along with what appears to be an F2 tornado.

According to Whiskey Riff.com, the newly engaged couple was out storm chasing on behalf of a YouTube meteorologist named Max Velocity. Word has it, the YouTuber even took time out from covering the storm to live-stream the couple's surprise whirlwind proposal.

After looking at their photo, I sure hope Paige had her Crocs in "sport mode" because by the proximity of that tornado,  she probably needed to start running right after saying "yes!"

Congrats, you two!

10 Things You Should Never Do in South Dakota

Go anywhere in the U.S. and you'll find traditions and customs that only exist in that part of the country. South Dakota is no different, and there are definitely some "do's and don'ts" when it comes to living here.

Be careful trying any of these things in the Mount Rushmore State.
