South Dakota, Minnesota, & Iowa's Favorite 90s Movies

Having lived through the 90s I have vivid memories of crop tops, bomber jackets, mom jeans, low-rise jeans, overalls, layered clothing, and tracksuits. But fashion wasn't the only thing that made an impression on me back then.

There were some really memorable movies that came out in the 90s too. Saving Private Ryan, Ghost, Office Space, The Lion King, Independence Day, Good Will Hunting, Austin Powers, A Few Good Men, My Cousin Vinny, Mrs. Doubtfire, and hundreds more, lit up movie screens around the world.

That got me wondering which 90s movies were favorites in our tri-state area and thankfully Mental Floss and Frontier Bundles were wondering the same thing!

These are the movies that were most searched for in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

For South Dakotans, the 90s movie they apparently liked the most is the Disney animated epic Beauty and the Beast.

Minnesotans opted for yet another Disney musical animated great and that was, The Lion King.

Finally, Iowans searched for the 90s blockbuster Twister, more than any other 90s flick.

In fact, in this particular study, the overall winner of most searched for 90's movie was indeed The Lion King which was the choice of 18 states in the country.
