South Dakota City High On Hardest Working Cities List
Americans put in some long work hours. In fact, we put in a lot more work hours than other countries. U.S. workers put in about 1,799 hours per year which is by far many more hours than Japan, the U.K., or Germany.
Wallet Hub's latest study looks at 116 of the largest cities in the U.S. and checked out their workers and work ethics.
We know how hard people in Sioux Falls work, so it really comes as no surprise that our city showed up in the top 15 cities in terms of hard-working employees.
How did Wallet Hub come up with these rankings? They compared all of the cities in the study in two main categories, A) Direct Work and B) Indirect Work.
Within those two categories, they considered things like average workweek hours, employment rates, workers who don't use all of their vacation, (that wouldn't be me), volunteering hours, commute times, average leisure times, and more.
Just where did Sioux Falls land in this study? In a very respectable 11th place out of over 100 of the largest cities in the country!
These are the Top 12 Hardest Working U.S. Cities:
