Spring Clean Your Documents and Join the Shred Event

As spring cleaning season kicks into full gear, there’s one event in Sioux Falls that offers more than just a chance to declutter - it gives you an opportunity to protect your identity and support a safer community at the same time.

On Saturday, April 18th, Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers is teaming up with the Better Business Bureau for their annual Shred Event, and it’s one you won’t want to miss.

We all have stacks of old paperwork lying around, like bank statements, tax documents, medical records, and more. Tossing these in the trash can put your personal information at risk. That’s where this event comes in.

At the Shred It Event, you can bring your sensitive documents and have them securely destroyed on-site. It’s a quick, easy way to protect yourself from identity theft while finally clearing out those overflowing file folders, or in my case, bags of shreddables.

Convenient Shredding Locations Across Sioux Falls

There are four handy locations in Sioux Falls where you can bring your items for shredding:

  • WEST - - - Roosevelt High School Parking Lot (41st St & Sertoma Ave)
  • EAST - - - Washington High School Parking Lot (6th St & Sycamore Ave)
  • CENTRAL - - - Lincoln High School Parking Lot (Cliff Ave & I-229)
  • SOUTH- - - Sioux Falls Christian Parking Lot (69th & Charger Cir)

Again this year, it is a "touchless" event, so just drive up with your shreddables in your backseat or trunk, and the awesome volunteers will grab them.

Beyond the practical benefits, this event serves a bigger purpose. Proceeds and donations from the shred event directly support Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers and its mission to keep local communities safe.

Join the Movement: Make Your Spring Cleaning Count

Crime Stoppers provides a platform for anonymous tips that help law enforcement solve crimes. Those tips often lead to arrests, and tipsters may receive rewards - all funded through community support of this event.

The Shred It event is the sole fundraiser for the non-profit Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers, and a suggested donation is $5 per box or bag. By participating, you’re helping ensure that this vital program continues to operate and make a difference across the Sioux Empire.
