City officials have announced that Sioux Falls public outdoor pools are scheduled to open for the season on Friday, May 30, 2026, just ahead of the first full weekend of June.
These are the Sioux Falls public swimming pools expected to be open for the 2026 summer season:
- McKennan Park Wading Pool: Reopens for the 2026 season with a brand-new wading pool and bathhouse.
- Midco Aquatic Center: Open year-round (indoor facility).
- Drake Springs Family Aquatic Center
- Frank Olson Pool
- Laurel Oak Family Aquatic Center
- Terrace Park Family Aquatic Center
- Kuehn Park Pool: The current pool remains open during the 2026 summer season, as construction on the new, massive Kuehn Park Aquatic Center is built in a different area of the park
Each facility offers a mix of features, from water slides and lazy rivers to lap lanes and splash areas.
Pool hours are expected to follow a typical summer schedule, generally running from late morning through early evening.
However, hours can vary by location and may be adjusted due to weather conditions or special events, so it’s always a good idea to check ahead before heading out.
