
Don’t Miss Out: Sioux Falls Property Tax Refund Deadline
Time is running out for eligible Sioux Falls residents to apply for valuable property tax refund relief.
The City of Sioux Falls' Property Tax Refund Program offers up to $500 in refunds on the municipal portion of property taxes for qualifying homeowners.
The application deadline is April 1, 2025.

Who Qualifies?
Sioux Falls residents who are:
• Age 65 or older, OR
• Have a disability as defined by the Social Security Act
How It Works
The process is straightforward. Apply for South Dakota's Assessment Freeze for the Elderly and Disabled Program through your county treasurer's office (Minnehaha or Lincoln County). If approved for the state program, you automatically qualify for the city's refund—as long as your property taxes are current.
Income limits:
• Single household: Under $56,595 annually
• Multiple-member household: Under $66,885 annually
Your home's market value must be $514,500 or less (unless previously approved), and you must have lived there at least 200 days last year.
