Now that the snow has arrived, Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Randy Brink says officers will be ticketing vehicles for parking on a city street during a snow alert.

"Quite honestly the ticketing portion will take a couple of days given the amount of cars and roads that are out there. Depending on how many cars are out there, we will finish up with the towing portion," said Brink.

"The main thing out of all this is that we don't want to ticket or tow any cars. We would really encourage people to get that information ahead of time. Sioux Falls.org has a great spot where you can go in there and sign up for text alerts or you can get them via emails on social media."

Brink says a ticket will cost $35.
