Sioux Falls Park Entrance Closing for Road Construction This Week
If you're planning a trip to Spencer Park over the next couple of days, you'll want to plan ahead.
Beginning Thursday, July 23, the main entrance to Spencer Park will be temporarily closed while construction crews pave Cliff Avenue as part of the ongoing road improvement project in southeast Sioux Falls.
The closure is expected to remain in place through Saturday, July 25, when the park entrance is scheduled to reopen, weather permitting.
While vehicles won't be able to access the park through its main entrance during the closure, Spencer Park will remain open to pedestrians.
Visitors can still reach the park by using the nearby recreation trail, making it possible to enjoy walking, running, or spending time outdoors despite the temporary inconvenience.
Motorists traveling near the construction zone should expect delays and changing traffic patterns.
The paving work is part of the larger reconstruction project taking place along Cliff Avenue, which has included several lane closures and traffic changes in recent weeks.
While these projects can be frustrating in the short term, they are designed to improve road conditions and enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
