
Sioux Falls Gas Prices Skyrocket To Almost $4 Overnight
Sioux Falls residents woke up to an unwelcome surprise this morning as gas prices across the city surged dramatically overnight.
Many South Dakota gas stations are now charging close to $4 per gallon.
Gas prices across the United States hit a 4 year record high of around $4.18 a gallon.
US gas prices have surged to their highest level since August 2022, averaging $4.18 per gallon on April 28, 2026, driven by Middle East tensions.
This spike in gas prices represents a jump of over $1.20 per gallon since late February
In some areas of the US prices jumped by over 60 cents a gallon in 24 hours.
Local drivers reported seeing prices jump by as much as 30 to 40 cents in less than 24 hours, a sharp increase compared to the relatively stable rates seen in recent weeks.
For families already managing tight budgets, the timing couldn’t be worse, especially with summer travel season just around the corner.
