
Beyond Cotton Candy, Sioux Empire Fair’s Surprising New Events
The Sioux Empire Fair will soon be kicking off (Friday, August 2 at 5 PM) and this year there will be brand-new activities for everyone to take in including the opening night Fiesta Latina.
Dakota News Now is reporting that Sioux Empire Fair President & CEO Scott Wick met with the South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce about the proposed new fair event and the huge community response is how it came into being.
Fiesta Latina will showcase live Hispanic music and cultural performances including DJ Frank Fuego Fiesta, Marquense Musical, and Rosendo Robles. It is FREE with paid fair admission.
The Sioux Empire Fair offers reduced admission prices on Friday, August 2 for the opening day. Admission for August 2 is $5 for ages 6 and up, and free for children ages 5 and under.
Another new event being presented this year is an additional day of rodeo action with the Sioux Empire Championship Rodeo on Saturday, August 10, with performances at 1:30 and 7 PM.
Fair officials are bringing back free admission Monday through Friday from opening until 1 PM. Then, after 1 PM, fair admission will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
