Selena Gomez dropped a major clue about Taylor Swift’s new song "ME!" years ago.

It's been less than 12 hours since the pop star dropped her highly anticipated new song with Panic! of the Disco's Brendon Urie—and now it's come to everyone's attention that her best friend has known about the track for YEARS. Swift is a pro when it comes to clues, but it looks like the very first hint was posted on her birthday in 2017 by Gomez.

In her Instagram birthday tribute to Swift, Gomez wrote, "I’m glad you were born. You write all the thoughts some aren’t able to articulate. (ME!) Thank you for giving a voice to this world that is authentic and inspiring. I wish some knew how big your heart actually is... it’s fierce, bold and freaking wild with light. I’m glad you protect that. Love you @taylorswift"

How did we not notice this?! It's been under our noses this whole time.

Right before releasing the track, Swift did confirm her "the Back to You" singer does, in fact, hear her music ahead of time. "YES, Selena has heard most of the new album, she is the keeper of secrets and queen of my heart," she wrote to fans on YouTube.

According to Gomez, the new Swift era is going to "amazing." She told Entertainment Tonight, "Oh yeah! Oh my goodness, yeah, it's amazing, you just wait!"
