School Bus Fire Claims the Lives of Two People in Iowa
A tragic fire that broke out inside a school bus in western Iowa has claimed the lives of a student and a 74-year-old school bus driver.
KSFY TV is reporting the fire erupted around 7 AM on Tuesday, (December 12) at a farm near Oakland, Iowa which is located about 35 east of Omaha, Nebraska.
According to the KSFY TV report, the bus had just picked up a 16-year-old student at the farm before it backed out of a farm driveway and into a ditch across the road.
By the time authorities and fire crews arrived the bus was fully engulfed in flames. The remains of the two victims were found inside the bus after the fire had been extinguished.
KSFY TV is reporting the student and the bus driver, were the only two passengers on board the vehicle at the time of the fire.
Still no word on what caused the blaze.
