What is Rock the Block all about?

This annual event is meant to improve the quality of life for residents in the area by improving living conditions. Homeowners who met Habitat's income guidelines applied for Rock the Block improvements. The eleven projects are free to the homeowners.

Over 70 Habitat for Humanity volunteers will be painting, planting trees, doing yard cleanup and minor home repairs, as well as Terrace Park improvements.

When does this event take place?

The annual Rock the Block event is going on from Wednesday, June 4, through Saturday, June 7. Volunteers are still being accepted, and you can get information here.

The reason this event is free to homeowners is because of all the great partners who supply materials, services, food, and monetary donations.

What neighborhoods have Rock the Block events?

This year (2025), it's the Terrace Park neighborhood, but if you think your area should host a Rock the Block event, contact the Habitat for Humanity Neighborhood Revitalization coordinator at 605-274-6284.

So if you see a bunch of hardworking people in the Terrace Park neighborhood this week, just know they're doing their part to make Sioux Falls more livable for that neighborhood and for all of us.
