Downtown Sioux Falls To Get A Splash Of New Art This Summer
The downtown Sioux Falls area is becoming more and more beautiful and vibrant every day, and this summer, even more color and energy will be added to its landscape.
Between the buzz of SculptureWalk on Phillips Avenue, the steady foot traffic near Falls Park, and the lawn chairs that will soon be popping up at Levitt at the Falls, the entertainment level of the Sioux Empire keeps heating up. Now, a new public art project is set to add even more personality to a space locals already love.
According to Dakota News Now, Levitt at the Falls has commissioned two new murals that will bring a special visual flair to the downtown Sioux Falls scene. One will be indoors, the other outdoors, both designed to reflect the creativity that is quickly becoming a signature in the area.

Sioux Falls artist Les Cotton will create an indoor mural inside the T. Denny Sanford Hospitality Center. That piece is expected to be completed just in time for the Levitt season opener on June 4.
Meanwhile, an outdoor mural will take shape along Phillips Avenue, created by Bay Area art team Rough Edge Collective. The timing couldn’t be better; work on the mural will happen from late June into early July, right during Levitt concerts. That means if you’ll be one of the people camped out on a lawn chair with a cold drink, you’ll actually be able to watch the mural come to life in real time.
Rose Ann Hofland, Vice President of Programming at Levitt at the Falls, says the addition of visual art is a natural next step for the venue. “These murals will welcome visitors into the space and reflect the creativity that defines Levitt and the joy we aim to foster,” Hofland told Dakota News Now.
The 2026 Levitt at the Falls season kicks off Thursday, June 4, and runs through September 12, featuring 50 free concerts. Presented by MarketBeat, the lineup spans everything from blues and country to family-friendly performances, so whether you’re a regular or just wandering down from 8th & Railroad after dinner, there'll be something for everyone.
