You can file this under first-world problems, but it's still very disturbing nonetheless.

The popular restaurant chain known as Panera's is pairing down its menu.

The recent news is causing many fans of the Panera's chain to say "Panera...Don't You Dare-ah!!"

I was made aware of this disheartening news the other day by a co-worker who informed me that he had just purchased the last three blueberry scones the Sioux Falls Panera on Louise Avenue will ever be selling.

Say what???

That bombshell sent me into a slow panic. I for one enjoy a good blueberry scone, and Panera in my opinion used to have some of the best. But, not anymore I guess.

According to the folks at the Daily Meal, the Sioux Falls Panera's, along with other Panera locations throughout the country are supposedly in the process of downsizing their menus.

Allegedly, joining the beloved Blueberry Scone on the hit list are Butter Croissants, Bistro French Onion Soup, the vegan Ten-Vegetable Soup, and the Kitchen Sink Cookie. The chain is also reportedly getting rid of its entire cold brew selection and its decaf espresso shot. Word has it that a total of 30 different menu items will be removed.

Again, Don't You Dare-ah...Panera!

The article in the Daily Menu says the move by Panera is designed to improve upon its guest experience by testing a streamlined menu in a small amount of Panera bakery cafes. The new plan aims to provide guests with a faster and more convenient experience while also simplifying operations for Panera associates.

As far as I'm concerned, this recent news by Panera is just plain... Bubba, Bubba, Bubba- Bad...Bad to the Scone!

Rest in peace my beloved Panera blueberry scone.
