Owner of Nyberg’s Ace Hardware Talks Move into Historic Downtown Sioux Falls Building
Recently, the owners of Nyberg's Ace Hardware announced a new location in downtown Sioux Falls. The company will take over the old Sid's Liquor building, along with the store adjacent to that location.
Kevin Nyberg says the company is looking forward to the expansion.
"Both of those buildings are on the historic register. We're just glad we are going to be part of downtown Sioux Falls. It's a vibrant little community in itself. And we look forward to not only servicing those who live downtown, but also who work and the businesses down there. It's going to be exciting."
The history of the building is rich, and has a hardware connection.
"Al Neuharth started his publishing career in that building," Nyberg explained. "Sid's dad actually owned Epstein Hardware out in New Jersey, so Sid actually worked in a hardware store."
Kevin Nyberg’s father Roy started the local Nyberg’s Ace Hardware store in 1958.
