Minnesota Wild Trade Jason Pominville, Marco Scandella to Buffalo

More moves are being made for the Minnesota Wild. The team has traded Jason Pominville and Marco Scandella to Buffalo.

The Wild announced the move on Friday (June 30) that they have traded the two veterans and a 4th round pick for Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno, and a 3rd round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. Pominville was traded to the Wild in April, 2013 and has been with the team since. Scandella has been a member of the Wild since he entered the NHL.

Ennis has played with the Sabres for eight seasons in which he totaled 236 points. He missed 30 games last season due to a groin injury, and only appeared in 23 games during the 2015-16 season as he suffered two concussions. He is a former gold medal winner with Canada during the 2015 Hockey World Champion.

Foligno played five seasons with the Sabres and played in 80 games this past season. He is more of an enforcer, recording 279 hits last season and also spent 73 minutes inside the penalty box. Foligno has scored 43 goals in his NHL career, and has accounted for 103 total points in his five seasons.

Matthew Coller of 1500 ESPN in the Twin Cities also reports that the trade gives the Wild about $10 Million more in cap room with the removal of Pominville's 5-year $28 Million contract starting in the 2014-15 season.
