Sioux Falls, Minnesota Avenue Construction Public Open House

The City of Sioux Falls invites residents and community members to a Public Open House concerning the $12,241,812.00 Minnesota Avenue Phase 2 Construction Project.

The open house will provide information about the upcoming Minnesota Avenue Phase 2 construction project, set to kick off in early March.

The Open House is Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at City Center, 231 N. Dakota Ave., in the Cooper Room on the main floor.

This informal event requires no registration...simply stop by at any time during the open house hours.

There will be no formal presentation. Representatives from the City Engineer's Office will be on hand to answer questions from landowners and the public.

What to Expect from the Project

Construction will cover street and utility improvements along Minnesota Avenue from 2nd Street to just north of 8th Street.

Utility and surfacing work is scheduled for completion in 2026, with minor grading, landscaping, and cleanup carrying over into early 2027.

During construction, one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. On-street parking within the project area will not be available for the duration of construction.
