Sioux Falls Postal Worker Has Mail Van Stolen
How does that old saying go, "Nothing can stop the U.S. mail, neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
Does that still count if someone steals the mail truck delivering it?
That is exactly what happened on Thursday (March 27) to one Sioux Falls mail carrier.

Dakota News Now is reporting that a Sioux Falls postal worker had her mail van stolen while it was parked on 5th Avenue and Carter Place.
The police report states that the postal worker had parked the vehicle and was removing items from the van when the incident occurred. The suspect in the case approached her and demanded that she give him the keys to the mail truck.
According to Dakota News Now, the suspect then drove off in the mail van, and in the process of leaving hit some bushes in the 500 block of North Duluth Avenue.
A short time later, the suspect attempted to take another vehicle. This time, he tried to steal a car from a 17-year-old female at 5th and Minnesota Avenue. The driver was able to shut and lock the door before he was successful.
Dakota News Now reports that authorities eventually took 28-year-old Joshua Ducey of Sioux Falls into custody.
Ducey was arrested and charged with Grand Theft and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
No word on whether the mail inside the stolen van made it to its appointed destinations on time. But knowing the U.S. Postal Service, I'm thinking it probably did!
