Get your shine on Sioux Falls!  Let's light up the town Monday, March 30, 2020, from 9 pm to 9:15 pm.

Lighting Up Sioux Falls will show appreciation for all the healthcare workers throughout the nation on the front lines of the battle against this virus, the businesses that have closed down and those employees who lost their jobs.

What can you do?  According to organizer Tony Erikson's Facebook page, turn on your exterior lights, get a handheld flashlight or use the one on your phone and shine them into the Sioux Falls night sky for 15 minutes.

There will be aerial photographers in a helicopter over Sioux Falls filming all the lights.

This is an opportunity for people and businesses who are able to donate to the One Sioux Falls Fund and the Corona Help Sioux Falls Fund, set up by the Sioux Falls Community Foundation.

The One Sioux Falls Fund helps residents in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook, and Turner counties avoid evictions if they are unable to work due to COVID-19.

The Corona Help Sioux Falls Fund is a coalition of churches and community volunteers working to bring supplies and food to those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic. Any funds remaining after the initiative will be donated to Feeding South Dakota and The Community Outreach.

A friendly reminder from the pilots, PLEASE do not aim laser pointers at the sky.
