Latest Photos from 49th and Louise Construction Project in Sioux Falls

In case you avoid 49th Street at Louise Avenue because of the construction, but want to see how the progress is coming, here’s a little time saver.

You can see they are getting some work done as part of the flagship project for the construction season. This part will (hopefully) be completed by June and some pressure will be relieved from 57th and 41st Streets as a major east-west corridor.

All the exposed earth on the west side indicates the under street changes to drainage and other utilities. It also means this expedition is far from over.

Currently three lanes are available on the east side of the intersection. For westbound traffic, there's one lane to turn right and one to turn left onto Louise. The other lane is to go east on 49th Street. Pretty soon the new concrete will be ready for traffic and the current lanes will be torn out and replaced.
