Poor Cat Thrown Off Bridge & South Dakota Shelter Wants Answers
There is a special place for awful pet owners who harm their precious animals.
An evil South Dakota person threw a cat off a bridge, along with shooting the helpless pet in Beadle County. Who would do such a horrible thing? That's what one mystery a local animal shelter is trying to solve.

In a heartbreaking Facebook post, the Beadle County Humane Society is demanding justice for this abused kitty. A bystander was fishing when he witnessed this poor cat getting thrown off the bridge near 403rd and 205th streets in Huron. Suddenly, the witness saw the heartless owner shoot the cat. The fisherman couldn't stand by and watch this cat suffer. He was this young cat's Guardian Angel...a hero.
This courageous man called animal control and then proceeded to go into the water after the cat. The cat had found a log to get on while waiting for rescue. During the rescue both human and cat struggled to stay above water. The cat of course was terrified and so his rescuer did suffer some bite wounds that required a trip to the emergency room.
The good news? Both the cat and his rescuer are safe. The even better news? The man who rescued the cat adopted him!
Did Beadle County Humane Society find the barbaric owner who harmed this sweet cat?
So far, there are no tips that could lead to the previous cat's owner. Thanks to a generous donor, the Beadle County Humane Society is offering a $400 reward for any information leading to an arrest and justice. Here's the latest information:
If you have information about who owned this cat, or the 1990 possibly 2000 model year maroon Chevy pickup and it leads to their arrest this reward money will be yours!
If you would like to make a contribution to this fund, please send your check to 5063 Dakota Avenue South, Huron SD 57350 along with a note stating that it is to go towards the reward fund. We will update this post as needed if the amount goes up.
This donor has also chosen to donate the funds to the shelter should no one be found to answer to the charges, so please also make a note as to whether you want the funds returned to you in that case or donated to the shelter
