WalletHub released its 2024 study on the best states to live in, taking into account various factors such as affordability, quality of life, education, health care, and economic opportunities.

According to the report, the top-ranking states offered a balanced combination of low cost of living, strong job markets, excellent educational systems, and high-quality healthcare facilities.

States with thriving tech sectors and diversified economies tended to score well, as did those with robust environmental protections and recreational opportunities.

Several Midwestern states saw improvements in their standings due to successful efforts to attract new industries and enhance quality of life for residents.

The study also noted an increasing emphasis on states' resilience to climate change and natural disasters as a factor in overall livability.
