Huge Refrigerator Recall for Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota
If you have a Frigidaire refrigerator you should be checking this recall by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The Electrolux Group is recalling Frigidaire Side-By-Side Refrigerators with Slim Ice Buckets due to choking and laceration hazards. These refrigerators were manufactured from 2015 to 2019 and were sold at Lowes, Home Depot, and other stores nationwide and online.
This nationwide recall involves approximately 383,000 refrigerators.
You can find the model and serial numbers on a serial plate located inside the refrigerator compartment. Consumers can also visit Frigidaire's website to see if their specific serial number is included in this recall.
The problem involves the ice bucket assembly with pieces breaking off and being dispensed with the ice. So far 343 reports of plastic pieces breaking off have been taken with 2 people receiving injuries from ingestion or laceration.
If you have one of these refrigerators you should stop using the ice bucket immediately and contact Electrolux at 1-888-377-7563 Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 7 PM. You will receive a free ice bucket assembly component free of charge.
