Have you ever visited Flyboy Donuts in Sioux Falls and wondered where that unique name comes from?

Flyboy Donuts is a popular Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based bakery founded in 2013 in Tea, S.D., by a pilot.

The term “flyboy” is a classic nickname for a pilot, often used during the early days of aviation.

Current owner Ben Duenwald purchased the business in 2014, expanding it from one shop to multiple locations, featuring a signature aviation-themed and retro atmosphere.

The shops offer a variety of fresh donuts and coffee, with a strong emphasis on community donations of leftovers.

Flyboy produces thousands of donuts daily, and they partner with the Faith Temple Food Giveaway Program, donating all unsold items to local charities, schools, and organizations.

Flyboy Donuts was even voted "Best Donut In South Dakota" by Love Food.

Flyboy Donuts has six locations, including sites in Sioux Falls and Brookings.
