Have You Been to the Lowest or Highest Point in Minnesota?
I recently found out that the lowest point in South Dakota is at Big Stone Lake at 965 feet and the highest point is Black Elk Peak at 7,242. So that got me thinking about what the highest and lowest points in Minnesota are.
It wasn't hard to track them down thanks to multiple sources. Without question all of these places are destinations many people have been to, perhaps not knowing the significance of the location.
In Minnesota, the lowest point is Lake Superior at 600 feet above sea level and it is only 15 miles from the highest point in the "Star of the North" state, which is Eagle Mountain.
Eagle Mountain's summit is 2,301 feet and there is even a marker noting that it is the highest point in the state, that you will see on a beautiful 7-mile round trip hike to the top.
