
Guilty Verdict in Turner County Rape, Incest Trial
A Centerville man faces prison time after a Turner County Jury found him guilty on a number of sex offenses including incest and rape.
The announcement came from Attorney General Marty Jackley’s office as 35 year-old Benjamin Thomas of Centerville was convicted on 4 felony charges that could mean a maximum of 34 years in prison.
It was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Thomas committed Third Degree Rape, Aggravated Incest, Sexual Contact with a child under 16 and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor at his residence in November of 2012.
The Rape and Incest charges are each punishable with a maximum 15-year prison term and $30,000 fine. The other two charges are lesser felonies each worthy of 2 years in prison and $4,000 fines.
Thomas remains in custody at the Turner County Jail. A sentencing date is yet to be determined.
