So what's new?

One of the biggest changes is probably the new point-of-sale system that includes an outdoor kiosk.

According to Pigeon 605, here's how it works. You simply buy a ticket online, then just scan your phone at the outdoor kiosk, print your ticket, and head to the lift. The change is designed to get Great Bear skiers on the snow faster.

Another change is a new lower-priced weekday season pass. You can now ski Great Bear Monday-Thursday, plus Sunday evenings for just $180.00 for the entire season.

Pigeon 605 also reports that season passes, ticket packs, and buddy passes will be accepted without restrictions. No reservation is required.

The Bear has also rolled out a few new weekly promotions that include, Monday Madness, Tubing Tuesday, 5th Grade Days, and College ID Nights. All of those events kick off beginning on Thursday, (January 2).

Great Bear also has a lofty plan to increase its skiing terrain by another 7 acres. The article in Pigeon 605 says we can expect that change to happen within the next decade. The plans are in place already, the next step is getting the fundraising initiative up and running.

Once completed, it will increase the capacity for downhill skiing at Great Bear by 50 percent, plus, they have plans to add another chairlift as part of the terrain increase.

The Pigeon 605 article details several other things happening at Great Bear right now. Check those out here.
