Gone With The Wind screenings have been deemed offensive in Memphis, and Cersei Lannister's Los Angeles bungalow is up for purchase. These are this evening's Pop Bits.

The Orpheum Theater Group has halted screenings of the Academy Award-winning film Gone With the Wind after a recent showing left the Memphis theater with a number of comments on the film's racial insensitivity. The movie had been shown numerous times over the past few years, but the current social climate changed the theater's mind about subsequent showings.

It might not seem like a good idea to move into the home where a Lannister once lived, but you might have $1.9 million to take that risk. The Sherman Oaks residence Cersei Lannister called home when on the west coast features five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a massive saltwater pool in the rear. No dragons or white walkers in the neighborhood either, so you'd have that going for you.

Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov is under house arrest as he remains under investigation for allegedly embezzling government funds. Multiple German theater groups have crafted a petition on his behalf, and have even reached out to their own government for help in getting the charges dropped. Multiple supporters of Serebrennikov have signed the petition, including Australian actor Cate Blanchett, in the hopes a political example won't be made of the director.

The Hellboy film franchise is being rebooted, and has been casting for the past few months. Deadpool star Ed Skrein was attached to play Major Ben Daimio, an Asian Marine that worked with the BPRD (Hellboy's government agency). Critics didn't take kindly to yet another minority role being altered to fit a white actor, and for once instead of doubling down, an actor did the right thing. Today, Skrein exited the picture saying, "It is our responsibility to make more decisions in difficult times and to give voice to inclusivity."

Rick and Morty fans, you'd be wise to start paying attention to the show's commercial breaks: Adult Swim often has some of the funniest bumpers during breaks of any network. The nighttime programming block on Cartoon Network had no trouble sticking it to Game of Thrones last night, pronouncing the show's writing had died back in 2016.
