Sioux Falls Police are investigating a BB gun shooting resulting in the injury of a girl on Thursday.

"An 11-year-old, who was with a group of friends in an area park near 6th Street and Sycamore, were approached by a group of males who asked the girls if they had money. Which they didn't. The males came back a short time later. One of them had what appeared to be a black handgun which turned out to be a BB gun. Several shots were fired. This young lady was struck in the forehead. It was a minor injury but a laceration none the less."

McManus says police located the vehicle with the males after the victim provided officers with a description.

"Through some good police work and help from the witnesses, an officer found the vehicle that matched the description that was given. There were three individuals in the car, including an adult male, two juvenile males and a very strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle."

McManus says one of the three people in the car, 20-year-old Gayya Aggar of Denver, Colorado was taken into custody.

"The adult driver was charged with marijuana possession, paraphernalia possession, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor."

At this time, McManus says police don't think the shooter was in the car.
