If you have Gatorade in your refrigerator, you may want to take a closer look at the bottle before taking another drink.

PepsiCo has recalled 122,021 cases of Gatorade after discovering that certain products contain undeclared synthetic food dyes.

The recall involves 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Lemon Lime Zero, Orange and Orange Zero.

The recalled beverages were distributed in 37 states, including Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota, meaning consumers across the Tri-State area could have purchased affected products.

The issue involves Yellow No. 5 and Yellow No. 6, which were not properly declared on the product labels.

The FDA classified the recall as Class II, a category generally used when exposure to a recalled product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.

The recall covers specific production lots with expiration dates in April, May and June 2027.

Consumers should check the lot information printed on their bottles to determine whether their Gatorade is included.

PepsiCo initiated the recall on September 25, with the FDA classifying it on October 2.
If you discover a recalled bottle, don't drink it.

Consumers should follow the manufacturer's instructions for returning or disposing of the affected product.

With more than 122,000 cases involved and distribution reaching Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota, this is a recall worth checking—especially if you recently stocked up on Gatorade.
