Next time you're feeling a little depressed, better put down that can of soda. Now they claim that drinking soda leads to an increased risk of depression. So much for a Coke and a smile I guess!

New research from the National Institutes of Health has found if you consume at least four cans of soda per day, you have a 30 percent higher risk of depression. Just hearing that news, makes me depressed!

What is even worse, according to the study, diet soda is actually worse than drinking the sugary stuff.

I had a good friend who used to drink at least a 12-pack of soda each day! No wonder why he always walked around looking like someone just shot his dog.

Oh, by the way, there's good news for all you coffee drinkers. If you drink four cups of coffee each day, you actually have a 10 percent lower risk of depression.

Can I get anybody another cup of joe?
