This October, Sioux Falls is once again rolling out the red carpet for an event that’ll have the whole city wanting to cut a rug!

“Dancing With the Sioux Falls Stars” is making its grand return on Saturday night, October 18, at The District, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most entertaining nights of the year.

Think glitter, glamour, along with a mix of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Kevin Bacon cutting Footloose!

This annual event pairs local celebrities with seasoned dance pros for an unforgettable evening of competition, choreography, and yes, perhaps even an occasional cha-cha-cha!

The event is sponsored by Empire Mental Health Support, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for individuals impacted by life-altering mental health diagnoses.

Phyllis Arends, Executive Director of Empire Mental Health Support, recently told Dakota News Now,  "Empire Mental Health Support started five years ago, because we saw a need in the community for a local nonprofit organization really dedicated to making Sioux Falls a more welcoming place for people with mental illness. My husband and I have watched Dancing with the Stars since the beginning. So it was a natural lead-in to doing this as a fundraiser."
