Everything You Need to Know About Crooks Community Days
There’s something really special about small-town community celebrations. It is something people live for during our short summer months. These gatherings offer more than just entertainment—they’re an expression of local pride, tradition, and togetherness.
In our digital age, face-to-face interaction sometimes ends up on the back burner. These small-town events serve as a reminder of the value of community. They bring neighbors together, remind us of shared traditions, and create memories that last for generations.

That's exactly what Crooks Community Days brings to the summer. This is a big celebration in a small city about 20 minutes northwest of Sioux Falls.
First of all, you should know that the Crooks Citywide Rummage Sales kick off at 7 AM on Wednesday, May 28, and you can shop until you drop. The Curbside Delights food truck will be at the community center from 4 to 8 PM, too.
On Thursday, the citywide rummages continue, and the Taverns & Tots food truck will be at the community center from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Friday, May 30, the kids' "Growing Frontier Bike Parade" is happening at Sunset Park from 6 to 7 PM. This year’s theme is "A Growing Frontier", so deck out your bike, stroller, or wagon in true cowboy style—think bandanas, boots, and buckin’ broncos!
Show off your frontier flair for a chance to win some cold, hard cash, thanks to First Interstate Bank.
"Bingo and Bites" is going on at the community center from 7 to 9 PM Friday evening. There will be Bingo for the whole family and lots of homemade treats.
Saturday morning, get your family moving with the family-friendly community event for all ages and fitness levels! It's the Crooks Family 5K Run/1 Mile Walk. Registration begins at 7:30 AM at the Fire station, and the run/walk begins at 8 AM. Prizes will be awarded for female, male, and youth first-place finishers.
At 10 AM on Saturday, round up your family and friends for some real small-town spirit with the "Growing Frontier Crooks Community Parade". There will be floats, wagons, tractors, costumes, candy for the kids, and more.
