If you haven't been out to the Sioux Falls Reginal Airport in a while, you will undoubtedly notice a big change the next time you drive by or need to fly.

The Sioux Falls Airport now has a brand-new 4-story parking ramp.

A big component of that new parking ramp, which was launched this week, is a convenient skywalk connecting the ramp to the airport.

The skywalk is sure to be an air traveler's favorite once Old Man Winter rears his ugly head again in the Sioux Empire.

Dakota News Now is reporting that the airport just held a ribbon cutting on the new 4-story, nearly 1000-space parking ramp on Monday, (September 30). The new ramp is now fully open to the public, enabling travelers to park, and use the skywalk to get to the ticketing area without walking outside in the cold South Dakota conditions that are right around the corner.

Should you plan on doing a little air travel out of Sioux Falls this winter, you can now leave your winter coat in the car. Can I get a hallelujah from the traveling congregation?

Kimberly Ton, a traveler from Brookings, told Dakota News Now, “We didn’t take the skywalk, but in a blizzard, you don’t even have to go out outside. You can go straight across. We took the elevator. I’m just really impressed.”

In addition to being toasty warm, the new Sioux Falls Regional Airport Skywalk has some very cool-looking neon lighting and a state-of-the-art flat screen inside it.

It's a much-needed addition to the airport, just as temperatures get ready to drop.
