‘Come From Away’ Finally Coming to Sioux Falls For 8 Shows!
Come From Away is a lot of times described as a musical about 9/11, but it's actually a show about 9/12 and the days after. The show has been described as 'a celebration of the best of humankind.'
Sioux Falls is so lucky to have Come From Away in town for eight shows at The Washington Pavilion! The show opens on May 3 and runs through May 8.

Every character in the show is based on a real person that was stranded in Gander, Newfoundland on 9/11. In total, 7,000 people were diverted to this tiny town.
The Washington Pavilion website states, "Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships."
Come From Away is different from a lot of musicals in a few ways. Most notably, it's only about 90 minutes with no intermission. Also, the cast is rather small, but each actor plays multiple characters. It seems like it would be hard to follow, but it's not. Lastly, the music in the show is bluegrass/folk. Not exactly your typical show tunes.
Come From Away was announced before Covid and has been rescheduled, so many patrons are very excited to finally get to see this show!
Personally, when this show was announced, I had the honor of getting to meet two of the real-life people whose stories are part of Come From Away. Nick and Diane Marson were both diverted to Gander and would never have met otherwise. They eventually got married. More about when I met them, here.
Tickets are still available in all prices ranges, here.
