The Spring & Mulberry company initially issued a limited recall but has now broadened the scope to include additional chocolate flavors, urging consumers to take immediate action.
The recall was prompted by the serious health risk posed by Salmonella bacteria, which can cause severe foodborne illness.
The company specifically cited the risk of "fatal infections" in its recall announcement.
Salmonella symptoms typically include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.
These symptoms usually appear between six hours and six days after exposure and can last up to a week.
What You Should Do
If you've purchased chocolate from Spring & Mulberry, check your pantry immediately. Do not consume any affected products, even if they appear and smell normal.
The company advises customers to dispose of the chocolate right away to prevent accidental consumption.
