It looks as if the retail chain formally known as Bed Bath & Beyond might be making a revival of sorts, but hold on to your loofah, don't get too lathered up; they won't be opening up another brick and mortar store in Sioux Falls anytime soon.

Dakota News Now is reporting that the company that currently owns the Bed Bath & Beyond trademark, Beyond, Inc., announced on Tuesday, July 29, that it plans to open its first “small-format Bed Bath & Beyond Home store” in Nashville, Tennessee. This news came on the heels of a favorable earnings report.

The executive chairman of Beyond Inc., Marcus Lemonis, said this new, scaled-down version of the former Bed Bath & Beyond stores will be “a smart, scalable model that puts our iconic brands back in the heart of communities.”

The plan is to remain laser-focused on strengthening the core e-commerce retail business, according to Lemonis.

Bed Bath & Beyond fans no doubt remember the day their linen closet died; back in April of 2023, when Bed Bath & Beyond announced that they were filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and liquidating all of their remaining stores.

The Sioux Falls Bed Bath & Beyond Store ended up closing shop here in the Sioux Empire by June of 2023, while the last remaining store in the country turned off its lights on July 30, 2023.

Overstock.com, also owned by Beyond Inc., acquired the trademark to Bed Bath & Beyond at that time, and reopened the retailer as an online-only store.

According to the article from Dakota News Now, there's no word on when the Nashville store plans to open or if there are plans to open subsequent stores in the future.
