Still have a few Christmas gifts you need to get into the mail, you better hurry, because the holiday shipping deadlines are fast approaching!

As crazy as this may sound, Christmas is just one week away, and that doesn't leave holiday gift-givers with much time to ship all of this year's Christmas presents to out-of-town friends and loved ones.

Dennis Cromwell, owner of the UPS Stores in Sioux Falls told Dakota News Now, “We’ve been extremely busy, like we are every Christmas season. From Thanksgiving Day up until about a week before Christmas itself we are extremely busy, not just with outgoing packages for delivery but also incoming packages, we take both outgoing and incoming. On top of that, we layer on all of our Amazon returns. That has become an extremely busy process of accepting and returning Amazon packages. We do hundreds and hundreds of those a day.”

If you still have a few holiday packages that need to be sent, Cromwell highly suggests you get them in the delivery system STAT! That's if you want them to reach their destination by Christmas Day.

Cromwell told Dakota News Now, being that Sioux Falls is in the middle of the country, it typically takes UPS around 3 days to get packages to their various destinations on either coast when utilizing standard UPS ground delivery. Obviously, things like weather delays, etc. can slow down delivery times in some cases.

If you're the type of person who likes to do your Christmas shopping in the eleventh hour and wait till the last possible minute, Cromwell recommends going with UPS express shipping options like three-day select, second-day air, or next-day air for the fastest delivery.

If you plan on utilizing one of the faster shipping methods UPS offers, Cromwell says you will need to get your holiday packages in their hands by no later than Monday, (December 23).

And if your plan is to send your holiday gifts by mail, or a normal ground shipping option provided by USPS, Fed EX, or UPS, you will need to get your gifts into the system by no later than Wednesday, (December 18).
