
Augustana’s 50th Annual Jazz Festival Features Air Force Band
If jazz music is your jam, this is an event you'll want to put on your calendar for next week, as Augustana University's Jazz On the Upper Great Plains Festival celebrates its 50th Anniversary! Sioux Falls will be filled with the cool and white hot vibe of jazz from 800 music students and much more!
As if a 50th-anniversary celebration weren't enough, Augustana University's Jazz On the Upper Great Plains Festival is featuring very special guests. Dakota News Now is reporting that the Festival coming up on Monday and Tuesday, March 3 and 4 will welcome the U.S. Air Force Falconaires.
The Augustana Northlanders Jazz Band and 800 middle and high school students from 3 states will be competing and performing at the festival in the Hamre Recital Hall in the Fryxell Humanities Center.
The Falconaires will not only be performing at the festival, they will be holding jazz master classes and clinics for the student musicians.
Guests can attend an open rehearsal with the Falconaires on Sunday, March 2, before the festival begins.
Then the Jazz Festival's big finale concert featuring U.S. Air Force Falconaires' alongside Augustana's Northlanders Jazz Band will be at the Washington Pavilion on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:30 PM in the Mary Sommervold Hall.
Tickets are free and you can get them now at the Washington Pavilion online.
