Attention, Your Kids Know Your Passwords and PIN Numbers

So you think you have kid-proofed all your computers, phones, tablets and bank accounts with password protection huh? Think again.

According to a new survey, eight in 10 kids know the passwords and PIN numbers for their parent’s computers, smart phones, tablets and credit card accounts. And if they don't know them already, they can probably figure them out.

How are they getting this information? 18% of kids reported peeking over their parent’s shoulders to steal the passwords. 12% can figure them out just by trying a few combinations. One in 10 has even locked their parents account by guessing wrong too many times.

Yep, there's no denying the younger generation is generally far savvier about these types of things than their parents.

Whenever I hear news like this, it always reminds me of that quote from the movie Fletch Lives, "All I needed now was a computer, and a 10 year old kid to teach me how to use it."

It wouldn't be so funny, if it wasn't true.

It would also appear that kids are giving their parents credit cards a workout too. The survey showed that one in 4 kids have used their parent’s credit card to by buying something online without them knowing.

Most spend an average of $50.00. One in 5 kids said their parents never found out they spent the money.

But then, there's always the parent who put two and two together and figured out what was going on once the monthly subscription to "Jugg's Magazine" started showing up.

I wouldn't want to be that kid, when that happens!
