Downtown Sioux Falls will soon have one less craft beer taproom to patronize.

Covert Artisan Ales has announced that it plans to close its downtown taproom location at the end of November.

Dakota News Now reports that Covert Artisan Ales taproom has been open downtown since 2019. They plan to consolidate everything to their main production facility on Watson Avenue in Western Sioux Falls later this Fall.

According to Dakota News Now, Covert Artisan Ales Co-Owner Daniel Berry issued a press release on Thursday that said, "When we first opened in 2019, we had a small space in the production part of the brewery which was open to the public two days a week. Expanding to our current location meant we could introduce our brand to a much larger audience and share our love of craft beer.”

Berry went on to say that over the last five years, "Downtown Sioux Falls has been changing at lightning speed." That is why Covert Artisan Ales has decided to focus on one location.

Craft beer lovers will still be able to enjoy events and beer releases at the downtown location at the East Bank Depot on 8th Street for a couple of more months. The plan is to close the doors on the downtown taproom on or around November 17.

After that time, everything will shift to the Watson Avenue location.
