Was Ariana Grande Paid More Than Beyoncé for Her Coachella Set?
Rumors began flying that Ariana Grande was paid more than Beyoncé for her debut headlining Coachella performances.
People online reported that Grande made $8 million while Beyoncé made only $4 million. Those numbers are correct but that wasn't Beyonce's total.
Grande and Beyoncé each earned $4 million per Coachella weekend performance, making each of their totals $8 million.
Beyoncé made Coachella festival history by being the first African-American woman to headline at the festival. Along with her iconic performance, Beyoncé released her Netflix Homecoming documentary accompanied by a surprise live album. She also reunited her girl group Destiny's Child for an iconic performance.
Though she is not performing this year, along with her Netflix special, Beyoncé's one of a kind pyramid stage is on display at the festival.
On-site at the festival, Grande also has her own Coachella features including her pink tour bus, a mock Starbucks "Grande" latte, her very own Ariana Acai Bowl, and a nod to her song "7 Rings" with seven larger than life pink rings that fans can walk through.
Grande made history by reuniting *NSYNC (minus Justin Timberlake) for a once-in-a-lifetime performance. Other special guests during her weekend one performance included Nicki Minaj, Diddy, and Mase. She is only the fourth woman to headline Coachella, following Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Björk.
Grande will officially close out Coachella by headlining the final date of the festival Sunday (April 21). *NSYNC hinted that they will be making a return to collaborate with Grande one last time.
