Another WINTER STORM WARNING For Minnesota, Iowa, & South Dakota

Another Winter Storm is going to bring big snow and strong winds to parts of Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING in effect from 12 Noon today until Midnight Friday.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph by Friday afternoon.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota and southeast South Dakota.

This WINTER STORM WARNING is issued for the following counties...

Lyon
Osceola
Dickinson
Sioux
O`Brien-Clay
Plymouth
Nobles
Jackson
Turner
Lincoln
Bon Homme
Yankton
Union

Travel could be very difficult to impossible by Friday afternoon. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from 12 Noon today until 6 PM Friday.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph by Friday afternoon.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and south central and

southeast South Dakota.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Travel could become difficult to impossible by Friday afternoon. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

After the snow and wind diminishes arctic air arrives. Wind chills drop as low as 25 below zero Saturday morning, and as low as 45 below by Sunday and Monday morning.

Precautions should be taken to avoid outdoor exposure in these temperatures.
