Gunfire Breaks out during Sioux Falls Road Rage Incident
Incidents of road rage are becoming more common, and more scary by the minute here in the Sioux Empire.
The latest case of road rage happened on Thursday (March 14) around 8 PM in the area of Russell Street and Minnesota Avenue.
According to Dakota News Now, the incident broke out after two motorists stepped outside of their vehicles and got into a verbal confrontation that allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation in a parking lot in that vicinity.
Once that altercation concluded, the police report states the two vehicles left the parking lot and drove to the 800 block of North Dakota Avenue. Shortly after arriving, gunshots could be heard by bystanders who were not involved in the road rage incident.
A 19-year-old Sioux Falls woman had her foot grazed by a bullet resulting from the gunfire. Dakota News Now reports that authorities took her to the hospital for treatment, her injury was not believed to be serious.
Fortunately, there were no other injuries associated with the incident.
Police told Dakota News Now they estimate a total of three to four people were involved in Thursday's road rage incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
