This dense fog with freezing drizzle has been producing some very dangerous driving conditions.

Black Ice has been causing many accidents in large portions of Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.

DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...Until noon CST today.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of drizzle are also possible.
Temperatures have fallen to near or below freezing, resulting in
untreated roads becoming slippery.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
the distance ahead of you.

“Temperatures remain above normal, but we'll be stuck in the clouds and fog for at least two more days!

You may actually see a bit of Sun by this weekend, but especially next week as temperatures rise towards the 40s.

The outlook into early February continues to support above-normal temperatures."
