Okay, you've just gone through a bad breakup. What's the first thing you do after the weeping and gnashing of teeth stop?

Simple. You defriend your ex on Facebook. Wash your hands of that slug once and for all. Just one problem, deep down inside you really want to keep taps on what's going on with them. If for no other reason than just to make sure their life sucks and to be confident that you're "winning" in the break-up.

So what do you do? You create a fake Facebook profile so you can easily stalk your ex from afar.

That appears to be the case, especially with women.

A new survey reveals that one in five women have created a phony profile to check in on their ex.

The survey found that 19% of women have made contact with their ex when they were feeling weak, then ultimately ended up regretting it. Another 18% almost did, but then had the willpower to stop short of making the call, sending the text, or email.

Who knows, maybe it really is possible to still be friends after the love is gone. 30% of women claim to have wound up staying Facebook friends with their ex.
